Incineration Systems

GD Range of Organic Waste Incinerators

Applications:

The GD incinerator is designed specifically for the disposal of Type 3 & Type 4 wastes and is used extensively in:

  • Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinics, Veterinary Institutions, Research and Industrial Laboratories for the disposal of human anatomical waste including human tissues, organs, body parts, carcasses, bleeding parts, fluids, blood and experimental animals used in research; Microbiology and Biotechnology wastes from laboratory cultures, stocks and specimens of micro-organisms, live or attenuated vaccines, human and animal cell cultures, infectious agents, wastes from production of biologicals, toxins, dishes and devices used for transfer of cultures; Solid wastes including items contaminated with blood and body fluids, cotton, dressings, soiled plaster casts, linen, bedding and other material.

  • Biological and Pharmaceutical Research Labs for the disposal of tissue and plant culture, animal cadavers and outdated drugs.

  • Municipal Corporations for the disposal of civic waste such as garbage.

  • Port Trusts, Road Transport Corporations for the disposal of canteen waste and garbage.

  • Canteens, Hotels and Restaurants for the disposal of vegetable and food waste.

  • Food Processing Centres for the disposal of vegetable, fruit, meat and egg wastes.

  • Pharma and Drug Manufacturing Companies for process waste and refuse by-products.

  • Effluent Treatment Plants for sludge disposal.

  • Poultry Farms, Hatcheries, Zoological Parks and Animal Houses for the disposal of eggs, dead chicks, carcasses etc.

Available in capacities from - 2.5 kg / hr to 55 kg / hr.

Design Features of the GD Range of Incinerators:

  • Horizontal Design - Primary and secondary chambers housed in single shell

  • Destruction efficiency 99.00%

  • Handles Type 4 waste with 85% moisture content

  • Special high alumina low cement castable refractory providing for high cold crushing strength

  • Operates on 220-240 V single phase 50 Hz AC supply

  • Extended residence time of >= 1.0 sec

  • Separate small ash doors

  • Meets CPCB norms with no downstream equipment

  • Long equipment life

Burner:

  • Single pressure jet oil fired mono block burner for primary and secondary burning, meeting temperature requirements of 800°C ± 50°C in primary chamber and 1050°C ± 50°C in secondary chamber

  • Fuel efficient, with return pipe for saving excess fuel

Construction Details & Additional Features:

  • Automatic electronic sequence monitoring device mounted on control panel for safety and long life

  • Protective thermowell for long thermocouple life

  • SS braided seals for all doors

  • Coated SS anchors for excellent bonding of refractory to shell

  • Low skin temperature due to cold face protection

  • Unique surface preparation for painting

  • High heat and corrosion resistant paint

  • Very low running costs

  • Low electric power requirement

  • Negative pressure for operational safety

  • Free operator training at site

Ingenious Design:

The design concept of this incinerator enables the use of only one burner in place of two, thereby enabling high cost savings. The incinerator contains two chambers housed in the same shell. Waste that is loaded in the primary chamber is burnt and the products of combustion flow above the hearth, change direction and flow across the primary chamber grate into the secondary after-burn chamber. The flue gases pass through the core of the burner flame and travel again to the primary chamber for re-circulation providing for the extended dwell time before emission, thereby enabling complete destruction of suspended carbon particulates, smoke, fumes and odour.

Norms Followed:

As per the notification of the Ministry of Environmental and Forests dated 20th July 1998, regarding standards for incinerators, our equipment satisfies the requirements as follows:

  • Two chambers (primary and secondary)

  • Combustion efficiency 99.00%

  • Temperature in the primary chamber is 800°C ± 50°C

  • Secondary chamber gas residence time is equal to or greater than 1.0 second at a temperature of 1050°C ± 50°C, with minimum 3% oxygen in the stack gas

  • Emission standards within the required levels

  • Volatile organic compounds in ash not more than 0.01%
